About Us
Established in 2025, our mission is to be the first
publicly-funded longevity clinic in Canada, helping motivated
patients to maximize their healthspan and lifespan. Our
initial focus is on metabolic dysfunction, the dominant driver
of cardiovascular disease, which itself is the leading cause
of death in North America and worldwide.
We believe most metabolic dysfunction and downstream
cardiovascular disease can be prevented or substantially
delayed through risk stratification, early detection, and
individualized interventions. Further, we believe that timely
treatment of cardiometabolic conditions can reduce risk of
other major morbidities including diabetes, cancer and
dementia.
Dr. Overduin obtained his MD from McMaster University, followed
by specialization in Internal Medicine and subspecialization in
Geriatric Medicine. He completed additional post-fellowship
training in metabolic and lipid disorders at the
Wharton Medical Clinic for Weight Loss
in Burlington and the
Lipid Clinic
at Hamilton General Hospital. He also completed a PhD in
neuroscience at MIT, and worked as a postdoctoral fellow and
research affiliate in computational neuroscience and
neuroprosthetics at Boston University and the University of
California Berkeley. He continues to do research through the
Geras Centre for Aging Research. His research has focused on the learning and execution of
complex behaviours, and changes in body composition with aging.
